National Day of Prayer – Loudoun

Pastor Brian Bales, host of Good News for the City radio program on WAVA and Senior Pastor of Christian Fellowship Church, Emceed the event, which for the third year opened with the National Anthem sung a Capella by Kaitlyn Maher.  The event led with greeting and presentation of proclamation by Loudoun County Board Charmian Phyllis Randell and Leesburg Mayor Kelly Burk.

Community leaders gave prayers for 9 areas as follows:

  • Government:  Roger Zurn, Loudoun County Treasurer
  • Business, Pam Jones, Long & Foster and the Loudoun Chamber of Commerce
  • Church, Mike Minter, Senior Pastor, Reston Bible Church (Sterling)
  • Family, Scott and Victoria Shelton, parents
  • Education, Jack Haye, President Patrica Henry College, Purcellville
  • Media, Sophia Nelson, journalist MSNBC
  • Military, Ron (Rabbit) Christensen, U.S. Navy (Ret. Admiral)
  • Children, Nikki Mattson, Exec Director Mosaic-Virginia
  • First Responders, Michael Chapman, Sheriff

This is one of many local observances as part of the National Day of Prayer Task Force.
