See the Leesburg Nativity Tour on Parade as part of the Leesburg Christmas and Holiday Parade.  Free Nativity Tour ornaments will be given away while supplies last along with other treats.

The Leesburg Nativity Tour is an ideal Christmas activity for you, your family and your friends.    Leisurely stroll through historic Leesburg visiting shops and restaurants displaying the Nativity Tour sign or use the "Loudoun Awakening"  mobile app (download from any app store).   Sometimes the nativity will be displayed in a front window, other times venture into the store to search for it.   Pick up up the promotion card and get it stamped at merchants.  Fill up your card and get a free hot beverage from Trinity House Cafe. 

In honor of the 800th anniversary of the first nativity by St. Francis of Assisi, we have expanded the number of merchants and secured many new nativities never on display before. 

Nativities are displayed from December  1 - 31.  
This is the suggested walking route for 2023 merchants.  if parked at the Leesburg Town Garage, exit to Loudoun Street and turn left.  The first stop will be:

The History of the Nativity and the Christmas Story

In 1223 St. Francis  of Assisi lamented that  Christmas had become materialistic !  Imagine that 800 years ago.  (And Americans thought we invented materialism)  He created a representation of what the birth of Christ was like, to help people understand that solemn event:  God the son, came to earth as a new born baby.  

The origin of our modern day Christmas comes from the Christ Mass -- the church service celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ.   It's very common to celebrate "Christmas" without even knowing about the miraculous events surrounding the Birth and why we celebrate it 2000 years later.    Learn more about the Christmas Story.
